CRUISER REGATTA - SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER
This is on Saturday 26 Sept. Jennie will be way going to be away so Geoff Whalley will coordinate the day and act as RO and Start boat.
The Regatta is our only 'race around the cans' in Hayling Bay. The start time is set to allow for a roughly 21/2 hour race and still allow everyone to get safely back into the harbour afterwards with sufficient time to get back to their moorings.
HW at Chi entrance is 12.00. The start time of 10.45 will give a window of 10.45 to 1315 for the race.
The start will be from either CHI or other nearby racing buoy (the most likely alternative is Sparkes) depending on the wind direction. The course will be announced on the day over the radio on ch 8 - see the NOR. There is a list of probable marks.attached.
Other clubs in the harbour are invited to take part and its a great fun event, racing in Hayling bay, with CCRC usually putting in a strong entry.
Dont forget that the Cruiser Regatta forms part of our Cruiser Saturday Series of races So if you are looking to clock up a few extra points towards the Phillips 2 cup (awarded to the overall winner of the Saturday Series races) then get your entry in.
Attached are all the documents for the Regatta - including the entry form.
If you dont yet have an ESSC handicap, you need to apply for one. The handicap data form is also attached. Handicap requests need to be made to Linda Wolstenholme by Saturday 19 September at the latest please.
There will be a Buffet supper on Saturday evening to which all are invited, and when the prizegiving will take place. The menu and prices are in the attached invitation. .Bookings with numbers and menu choices for the supper need to go directly to slipperdining22@gmail.com by Wednesday 23 September please.
