Social Event Cancellation Policy – June 2026
Introduction
This document states what Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club Ltd's (ESSC) policy is with respect to possible cancellations of social events, by both ESSC, and members.
If an Event is Cancelled by ESSC
A full refund will be provided to all members who have booked and paid for tickets.
If a Member Cannot Attend a Social Event
- Refunds will not be provided. Following the club's self-help ethos, it will be expected that any member who buys a social event ticket and then changes their mind, for whatever reason, will have to find their own replacements. They will also need to organise their own payment(s) from the replacement attendees.
- If a replacement attendee is found, then the social committee must be informed (to comply with fire regulations, and club licence).
- Please inform the social committee by email: social@emsworthslipeersc.org.uk
- If a replacement cannot be found, then the member will forfeit any payments made to the club.
- In extraordinary circumstances, individual requests for a refund will be considered by the club's Flag Officers. Please email the social committee in the first instance.
