Dinghies
The dinghy section encourages all types of sailing whether it is racing or pleasure.
Racing takes place from April to December and all levels of sailors are encouraged to take part.
We normally race jointly with Emsworth Sailing Club, both using the same courses but with our own start/finish line. There are a variety of boats taking part with active RS400, Devoti D-Zero, Laser and Oppie fleets. We also run short course racing for the slower boats.
The courses and maps can be obtained from the Dinghy Secretary.
Slipper is a self-help club so all Dinghy sailors are expected to help with Race Officer/Patrol Boat or other duties. Please contact the Dinghy Secretary or Rear Commodore Sailing for more information.
This year's racing programme has been seriously affected by the Covid Lockdown, which has blown a hole in the published sailing programme.
Now that dinghy racing is all but back to normal, Simon Boylin and John Harris-Burland have been working to fill Race Officer and Patrol Boat job duty slots (with same household crews or Bubbles). Please login to the new website go into the members portal and select duty roster to see what slots are needed PLEASE Volunteer if you can.
Please sign-up for Race Officer and Patrol Boat duties
