More good news! We are re-opening the bar and catering for inside table service at ESSC!

Dear members

As you will be aware, the government has announced the 'road map' out of lockdown and it is a step-by-step plan to ease restrictions slowIy. From Monday 17th May we will be able to open up for inside table service for food and drink as we are moving into Step 3 of the staged plan.

From Friday 21st May, members will be able to eat and drink inside the clubhouse but restrictions will still remain in place to ensure we can minimise the risk of transmission of the virus in our community.

Bar opening hours will continue to be:

Fridays: 4.00 10.p.m.

Saturdays: 12 8 p.m.

Sundays: 12 6 p.m.

Food will be available as follows:

  • Friday 5.30 6.30 p.m. for takeaway and 6.30 8.30 p.m. for eating in the club whether inside or out. These meals must be pre-booked as happens currently for takeaways
  • Saturday 12.00 2.00 p.m. no booking required
  • Sunday 12.00 2.00 p.m. no booking required

Seating inside will be available in the bar area, the mezzanine and the Function Room if demand is high.

There continues to be a number of rules we need you to follow to ensure we are able to keep everyone safe and well:

  • Any member feeling unwell must not come to the club. Any member becoming unwell whilst on the premises must leave and inform the club if they subsequently test positive for the virus
  • Social distancing still applies as does the wearing of face coverings when inside the building to enter, exit or use the toilet facilities
  • Inside the rule of 6 from mixed households or 2 household groups apply
  • Outside groups of 30 are permitted
  • On arriving at the club, entry is only via the main door. You must press the bar entry bell for Paul to let you know if there is adequate seating whether inside or out for entry. If we are up to capacity we will unfortunately have to turn you away on that occasion
  • Once in the entrance members over the age of 16 years must record their details for Test and Trace purposes either by signing the log on the lectern or using the NHS QR code. Please note: each individual must provide their details and any member that refuses to provide this will be refused entry
  • Please use the hand sanitiser at the entrance and around the club to minimise transmission
  • Inside seating will be available in the bar area, mezzanine and Function Room if demand allows and this will be positioned to allow social distancing. Windows and doors will be kept open to allow for adequate ventilation
  • All members consuming food and drink must be seated inside but on the balcony or patio area there is more flexibility with numbers and groupings
  • All orders, payments and service must be made at the table
  • Drinks and food will be brought to the table and glasses etc. will be cleared away from there

Signage around the club will help remind you what we need to do to keep everyone safe and well.

We look forward to seeing you relax over a drink and/or meal in our lovely clubhouse over the coming weeks
