Social Cruise June 11th/12th - A Great Success!

Eight club cruisers and 27 members made it to Bucklers Hard on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately "Just Lyming" with Chris Cowley, Richard Munday and Julia Munday did not get to Bucklers Hard, due to engine trouble.

Despite the forecast, the weather on Saturday afternoon was warm and sunny and each boat brought flags and bunting to set the mood for our pontoon party to celebrate our Queens official 90th birthday.

A table wa laid on the pontoon and everyone brought food to share for our "American Supper". "Shearwater" cooked sausages for everyone on their barbecue!

Accompanied by stirring patriotic music from "BoBo" we celebrated in true Slipper Style, with Jennie and Mary giving a superb performance of "Land of Hope and Glory" - to the amusement of other visiting boats on the pontoon!  See the photo in our gallery.

Despite the wet start on Sunday morning, the sun came out and we were treated to a lovely sail home, on a broad reach and with a fair tide!

This was a great club event, inclusive for everyone who came!

Just one of the emails afterwards! .....

Hi Geoff,
Just thought I'd let you know how much Joan and I enjoyed the evening, it was really great fun with good food, wine and company.

Thanks for all your work in organising it. We are very much looking forward to our next Social Sail.

Best wishes,
Andy & Joan Skynner
