Welcome to the Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club Website
I presume that you are looking at this page because you are a current member or you are someone who would like to know more about our Club or you wish to see the latest results from our regatta, open meetings or inter-club races. Whoever you are, thank you for visiting this site and I hope you find what you are looking for.
Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club prides itself on being a "members club". This means that it is the members who run the Club themselves and therefore we rely on volunteers to lead and support all the activities we undertake both on and off the water. In simple terms, we make things happen ourselves if at all possible, rather than buy our way out of difficulties.
The object of our Club is to encourage amateur sailing and boating and to provide and maintain a clubhouse and social facilities. I like to think we meet all these objectives very well indeed. Afloat, we range from having novices of all ages learning to sail, right the way through to members who are or have been national and international sailing champions. We even have some members who have crossed the Atlantic in their own cruisers. Ashore, we enjoy an active social programme and are fortunate to have one of the most attractive clubhouses in Chichester Harbour on the quay at Emsworth, with storage for about a hundred dinghies in the summer and forty cruisers in the winter.
The Club prides itself on being an RYA Recognised Training Centre and we organise a wide range of courses on and off the water for our members throughout the year.
ESSC is very much a local club with the majority of our members living within a few miles of the clubhouse. We actively support many organisations in and around Chichester Harbour. These include the Federation of Chichester Sailing Clubs with their "Fed Week" regatta in the summer, the Emsworth Food Festival and of course the RNLI.
If you would like to know more about our Club, please browse the other web pages or contact us by letter or e-mail.
