The Stig turned up, the entire Von Trapp family, even prince Charles missed his boxing day polo match to take part in the great trans-millpond rowing race. In the event, racing was very close with Captain Angus Mc Fungus taking the winning slot with James ‘Cracknell Mant in second and the Von Trapp family (or was that von crap?) in third

The overnight winds persisted to make H&H10 a high wind race - I'd like to be able to give some commentary on the race, but unfortunately we broke ISO815 before the start (sorry Mike)! Congrats to Hugh and Chips who take the race and Sunday series, closely followed by three slipper boats on 4 points. Slipper retain the club prize.

Congrats to Richard Kennedy who took first place in H&H9, narrowly ahead of Andy and Vicky Gould. Good close racing today, there was very little between the boats. Also attached are the updated club results and overall Saturday series results. All competitors note the mince pies and mulled wine available after racing tommorrow!

Please see attached for the TISC 2010 Chiller series dates. This series is open to Slipper members and runs from mid-January to the end of March. There is usually a good turn out of boats with close handicap racing, albeit with lots of pesky 300s!

Fortunately there were no cruisers moored to the floating jetty, as a fleet of 33 boats decided to test the limits of port/starboard and water for obstruction rules! This race doubled as the Harry Andrews trophy race for ESSC sailors, congratulations to Mike and Mark who sneaked ahead of Andrew and Vicky.

Fantastic turnout from all clubs, and good racing with 37 boats starting on a 30m line. Many thanks to the race officers and safety boat for making it happen, the safety boat may well see more action in the Sunday race!

As the weather conspired against both the Browning Series and the Harry Andrews Trophy races this Summer we have decided it would be better to award these trophies and hence will be running these two trophies alongside the next 2 weekends of Hare Hounds races.

Testing conditions once more for the fleet of 21 boats, with Matt and Gael (RS 400) taking first place in front of Hugh and Chris (Laser 4000).

A gusty force 4-6 welcomed the first of the H&H series. 17 boats started, 11 finished, in very testing conditions. Can someone please tape a course card to the Vice Commodores boat, old age is loosening his grip on navigation!
